Why English Medium School Needed:
After theindependence of India, a number of Bengali Medium School have been running inour rural community. Now, we have 20 Higher Secondary Schools in our area andthey are all Bengali medium. Our Moyna Ramkrishnayan Association follows theslogan “Education for All” and determined to materialize it. To implement thisvision, we set up a Residential Special School for Blind and Mentally Retardedchildren in 1999. Later this Residential Special School is sponsored by Govt.of West Bengal. After that, in the year 2008 we set up an English Medium Schoolfor education of the children from rural economically weak farmer families andthe backward minority families. In this era of globalization, English is one ofthe most powerful communication languages and it is the most used officiallanguage in our country. The students of remote rural areas are lagging behindin higher education and competitive examinations due to their weakness inEnglish Language. The most of the English Medium Schools of our state orcountry are town-centered. So the families of rural areas are unable to bearthe cost of attending such schools by cars. The course fees are also beyond thereach of middleclass families. So we started an English Medium School for primarylevel. Later, we received the Affiliation from West Bengal Board of SecondaryEducation. In our rural area, we have been running the school at a minimum usercharge of Rs.300/- to Rs.400/- per monthfor local community children for last 13 years. But we have trained andqualified staff for the school. The staff and passed out students of theTeachers Training Course (B.Ed. & D.El.Ed.) of our another wing providetheir service as intern for the English Medium School. We are arranging stipendfor the children from the minority families and are trying for sponsorship forthe children from the farmer families. The Govt. Of West Bengal has takeninitiative for setting up an English Medium School in each block for thedevelopment of rural children and we are marching forward with the same vision.
English Medium School:
Since the pre-independent period there is no Govt. or private English Medium School in ourarea. It is the Historical move made by our organization to startMoynaRamkrishnayan Association An English Medium School for the upliftment ofthe society as we know how English Language has many important role in thismodern world. This English Medium School is granted for class VIII by the Govt.of West Bengal. This school which is an integral part of our organizasion’sintegrated education system has been started with a view to provide higher& modern education to the general children of the rural backward families.The education is provided for free of cost. Only minimum users charge andtransport cost is taken . It is the one and only English Medium School among100 general Bengali Medium schools running in the surrounding area. Computereducation is one of the compulsory subjects for the children. Specialimportance has been given on co-curriculum activities such as painting,recitation, drama, music, dancing and over all moral education and valueeducation. This school has trained teaching faculty, Play ground with variousgames facilities for the children.
